Your role at a glance
You're not covering the week from the outside. You're one of the people who makes it feel like it happened.
You own
CoverageYour assigned events, in whatever format you actually make well: photo, thread, short video, live notes.
VoiceYour real take. We're looking for what you'd actually say that sounds like you.
The momentThe quote nobody else clipped, the exchange that shifted the room, the idea that landed differently than expected.
We do
Pair you with hostsWe connect you to the specific events to cover.
AmplifyCredit and push what you post out across Basecamp and Elevation's own channels, into the network of founders, operators, and investors the week is built for.
Brief you firstYou're in the pre-event briefing before the wider community knows what's coming.
02
Before the week starts
Basecamp runs August 6–12, 2026. Here's what to have out before day one.
Post your announcement
A short post letting your audience know you're a Basecamp Local this year, in your own words. Two things worth anchoring it to:
What it isA community-powered tech week bringing the whole Bengaluru ecosystem together for one week in August, free to attend.
What's differentThis isn't a conference and there are no keynotes to sit through. It's builders jamming, working through sticky problems, and finding each other in the city's cafes, parks, and neighbourhoods.
Write it the way you'd actually post it; this is a starting point.
Connect with your paired event hosts
We'll match you to the events on the calendar. Once you're paired, work directly with the host to think through how to cover their session. This will include:

During the week
1
Event coverage posts
Each Local puts up at least one post per event, up on your own socials. Basecamp is a unique week for India's ecosystem, and we'd love for you to bring out the essence of it coming together in your voice.
2
Photos and notes, back to us
After each event, send the Basecamp team your best photos and your notes from the session. These include a Granola transcript, or a few lines typed up right after, whatever you actually use. We pull these into recap content on Basecamp's and Elevation's own channels, so the more specific and detailed, the better.
3
Round-up posts
At least one round-up post over the course of the week. This will be the definitive "here's what Basecamp was actually about," in your voice. This is a synthesis of the week that captures the energy and intent of Basecamp more than a run-through of everything you covered.
04
Capturing good content
You don't need a professional crew to get this right. A little intention on what to shoot and what to note goes a long way.
What to shoot
✓The host or speaker mid-moment, not posed.
✓People actually talking to each other in small groups.
✓A wide shot of the room and the space so it sets the scene.
✓One or two short clips (10–30 seconds) that catch the vibe or a reaction.
What to note
✓The line someone said that made the room go quiet, or laugh.
✓An exchange between two people that wouldn't show up in a photo.
✓What actually landed with the room.
✓Jot it down right after the session, while it's fresh.
05Creative guidelines
Sound like you. Look like Basecamp.
Your posts should sound and feel like you, that's the whole point of a Local. These are here only for the moments you want a graphic, an overlay, or a slide to visibly sit inside Basecamp's identity.
